OBJECTIVES
- Learn the main characteristic and structure of an Argumentative and Expository essay.
- Learn to write an Argumentative and Expository Essay.
- Get to know the purpose of each one of them.
Its purpose is to persuade the reader to agree with the argument being made. A good argumentative essay will use facts and evidence to support the argument, rather than just the author's thoughts and opinions.
What do we use it for?
Expository writing has a clear purpose: to educate the reader. While it may also entertain or persuade the reader, these are secondary benefits and not the author’s goal. Well-crafted expository writing demonstrates the author’s expertise on the subject and in many cases demonstrates how they learned about their subject.
