Question 1: How Do I Contact My Teacher?

Mrs. Sarah HerbertFamily Service Center: Dickson City, PA Email: sherbert@ccaeducate.me Phone: 570-383-8711, ext. 15236 Or use the Edio Chat feature at the bottom of your screen. Remember to enroll in text messages to receive the messages directly to your phone.

What Is the Difference between Guided and Live Instruction?

Guided Instruction- Our guided instruction time is 9:45 am -10:30 am on Guided Lesson days. During these sessions, I will be guiding you through the material covered in the edio lesson and student workbooks. Live Classroom Sessions- We will have regularly scheduled Live Classroom sessions from 9:45 am - 10:30 am. I will use this time to enhance the course content, review concepts with additional practice, and/or help students prepare for upcoming assessments. There is no edio lesson to complete on these dates, so students either need to attend and participate or view the posted recording for participation points.

What work do I have to complete?

If I come to class, do I have to complete the Edio lesson? If I work asynchronously (not come to the class time), how do I submit the lesson in Edio? Synchronous: Attend Guided Instruction at the time scheduled for your class, participate/be present, complete work in your workbook, and click "submit" at the end of the class for credit. ***NOTE: it is not acceptable to enter the class (Zoom link) and walk away/stay in the Zoom well past class time signifying you are not truly present nor learning from the instruction. Asynchronous: If you do not attend the scheduled Guided Instruction, you will need to answer ALL questions in the Edio lesson to the best of your ability to earn credit. ***NOTE: Skipping the question, typing idk, or entering ...., will result in a zero. Partial points will not be awarded.

How is my grade calculated, and why do I have two grades?

Participation= 35% This is from the daily Guided and Live Instruction (Please see other FAQ to be clear on how to submit a lesson for your daily 5 points). Project Assignments= 10% I typically go over the majority of the projects with the students. Be sure to be paying close attention on these days because they are graded and worth more than a daily participation guided/live class. Assignments = 10%. Completing the required project work to earn points for these tasks. Included in previous category. Test= 25% I strongly encourage students to attend and ask questions during the test reviews (typically the day before the test). Quiz= 20% Again, attend the quiz review and ask questions! (the quiz reviews are the day of the quiz).

Students are provided with two grades. Your Current Grade factors in only the content you have completed. It does not include any overdue assignments. The Project Grade is the student's actual grade based on the work they have submitted and their progress in the course.

What is One Note?

To access our Class Notebook in OneNote:1. Go to the Resources tab in our class (located on the left side of your screen under the Progress tab on the sidebar). 2. Next, click "Launch in New Window" below the OneNote icon that will be displayed. 3. You will be directed to our Algebra 1 Class NoteBook. Check it out and explore the content there! 4. You can access our daily notes under the content library (be sure to click the "carrot/drop-down arrow" to fully view each unit). You MUST complete the steps listed above to initially "get into our class/set it up." Then you can more conveniently access it from the icon on our announcements page, your web browser, or from your start button on the desktop. I encourage you to use the student workbook to complete your notes as we work through them in class. Additional resources, completed notes, and practice opportunities will be available in OneNote. I will be able to see the work you complete in OneNote and help you with practice. OneNote is a great supplementary tool.
