Paper plane challenge

Due date: Thursday 25th August

Objective

Students will research, collaborate, communicate,and use creativity, crithical thinking and perseverance to innovate and find the better design for their paper plane.

Grades

This challenge carries a mark. It weights 10 % out of your final bimonthly grade. Grades will be assigned by taking into consideration the process and the result.

  • In pairs or teams of three, you will design a paper airpane, capable of flying through a hanging hula hoop ring, carrying 2 one-peso coins attached to it (taped, sticked, glued, etc) and thrown by a students at a distance of 6 meters.
  • Practice before the real flight.
  • Use a regular letter size (bond paper) piece of paper (recycle if possible)
  • You will be allowed to try twice.
  • You must record the process. You can take pictures (at least 5) or record a short video (loop and boomerangs are welcome). The idea is to prove that you didn't do it 15 minutes before presenting.
  • Airplanes must be decorated and include the names of the team members.

Responsibility, honesty, respect, creativity, team work, and enthusiasm are expected from high school students.
