Steps in Data Visualization

Data visualization conveys long and bulky raw data with the use of charts, infographics, graphs, scatter plots, and many more. Not all your audience will be technical or data-oriented so, presenting your data in simple visuals will improve communication and analytical efficiency to a large extent.

Views in Powerbi

What is a Powerbi View

We have 3 major views in Powerbi Desktop

  • Report: The Report view is the one at the top of the list. It’s also the default view, so it’s the one that you’ll see right away when you open Power BI Desktop. Creators use this view to create visual reports based on their data.
  • Data: Data view helps you inspect, explore, and understand data in your Power BI Desktop model. It's different from how you view tables, columns, and data in Power Query Editor. With Data view, you're looking at your data after it has been loaded into the model.
  • Modelling:The Relationship view is also called the Model view, and as you’ve probably guessed based on the name, it allows creators to see the relationships between their data models.

SLICERS AND TABLES

Slicers are another way of filtering.

Slicers are a great choice when you want to:

  • Display commonly used or important filters on the report canvas for easier access.
  • Make it easier to see the current filtered state without having to open a drop-down list.
  • Filter by columns that are unneeded and hidden in the data tables.
  • Create more focused reports by putting slicers next to important visuals.

Transform Data

If you use transform you can modify the data you already have or importing data. Eg: change column names. tinci

When you load data you can use data directly as you import on power bi desktop

Power Query Editor

What is Power Query Editot

Power BI Desktop comes equipped with Power Query Editor. You can use the Power Query Editor to connect to one or many data sources, shape and transform the data. You could modify the data in hand to meet your needs, make it more usable, and then load that model into Power BI Desktop.
