q: What do you think the story is about?

Ausable, a secret agent, is expecting to get a very important report. Another secret agent, Max, threatens him with a pistol, demanding the report. Does Ausable outwit him?

The chapter

Ausable, a humorous secret agent, is the protagonist of this narrative. He was with a friend called Fowler. Fowler discovered he was the polar opposite of what he had envisioned. Ausable told Fowler that he had been thinking incorrectly and that he would soon be looking at a very significant report that would impact the country's destiny. As they entered the room, another man named Max stood there with a pistol. He told them to relax until the missile reports arrived.

While meeting with an undercover spy, Fowler had an exciting encounter. Meanwhile, Ausable began with a tale about an imaginary balcony beneath his room's window. Someone was constantly hammering on the door during this conversation. Ausable stated that the cops came to check on him and his room on a daily basis. Max, clutching his revolver at both of them, stated that he would be waiting in the balcony and that Ausable should send the cops away at this time or he would shoot them.

Summary

The points

Max rushes out the window as the doorknob is twisted in loudly, and they hear a loud scream. The door opens, and a waiter enters. The waiter arrives with the wine that Ausable had requested. He goes, leaving the bottle, tray, and glasses on the table. After witnessing all of this, Fowler is taken aback. Fowler inquired about the cops. Then Ausable stated that there were no cops. Fowler inquired once again about Max, who was standing outside the window on the balcony. The individual would not return, according to Ausable, because there was no balcony at all.

This demonstrates Ausable's quick wit as he took advantage of the circumstance and effectively made Max anxious. He leaped out the window without thinking because he was afraid. He died after jumping from the hotel's top story. Ausable therefore outwitted Max and rescued himself from a potentially fatal predicament
