DEFINITION OF NOUNS

NOUNS Nouns are the class of words that name or identify all the things we know and who or what performs the action in the sentence.

DEFINITION OF NOUNS (Identifying a noun)

Start by identifying all the nouns in some sentences. For example, use the sentence: "The tree fell on the car" ("el árbol cayó sobre el coche"). In this example you can see two items, one performs the action and the other receives the consequence of the action, the first one is "tree" and the second one is "car".

02

If a noun ends in "-y", the formation of the plural depends on the letter preceding the "-y". If the "-y" is preceded by a vowel, the plural is formed by adding "-s". But if the "-y" is preceded by a consonant, the "-y" becomes "-i" and then we add "-es".

If a noun ends in "-f" or "-fe", the "-f" or "-fe" ending is removed and "-ves" is added. There are nouns that are invariable in both singular and plural, that is, their form of the singular and the plural of the same.
