RULES FOR ADDING THE -S TO THE THIRD PERSON SINGULAR *Normal verbs add an -s at the end without changing anything. *Verbs ending in "o", "sh", "ch", "ss", "x", "z", "y" add "es" instead of "s". *Verbs ending in "y" when preceded by a consonant, add "ies" at the end *When "y" is preceded by a vowel, they form the 3rd person like normal verbs.
