Prepositions of place and giving directions
Build a little structure!
Man kann die Stäbe aufstellen und beschreiben:
Der grüne Stab ist HINTER dem rosa Stab. Der blaue Stab ist NEBEN dem rosa Stab. Die Kinder können in Partnerarbeit die Stäbe aufstellen und beschreiben, WO sich welcher Stab befindet. Sie können einige Stäbe aufstellen und einer/m Partner/in beschreiben, WIE die Stäbe stehen, wie bei einem Diktat. Danach wird verglichen, ob die Stäbe der Partnerin/ des Partners in der richtigen Proportion angeordnet wurden.
Man kann mit den Stäben z.B. ein Dorf bauen und eine Geschichte erzählen:
Es war einmal ein Fluss (blaue Stäbe). Über den Fluss führte eine Brücke (gelber Stab). Auf der rechten Seite der Brücke war ein Wald (grüne Stäbe). Gegenüber auf der anderen Seite der Brücke waren Wohnblöcke (rote Blöcke). Auf der anderen Seite des Flusses gegenüber von den Wohnblöcken war ein Einkaufscenter, etc. Am Ende können die Kinder beschreiben, wie sie von ihrer Wohnung in den Wohnblöcken zum Spielplatz gehen usw.

vergleiche die objekte
Der grüne Stab ist höher als der gelbe Stab. Der blaue Stab ist kürzer als der rote Stab.
Verwende andere Adjektive zum Vergleich: schwerer/ schöner/ zweimal so lange wie, etc.
Suche auch den längsten, den kürzesten, etc.
Die Kinder können mit den Stäben Häuser bauen und diese miteinander verlgeichen, etc.

Story telling
Erzähle mit den Stäben eine Geschichte!
Man kann jedem Stab eine symbolische Bedeutung zuteilen, sodass sie als Schlüsselfiguren beim Erzählen einer Geschichte verwendet werden können.Während des Erzählens der Geschichte können die Kinder z.B. gefragt werden, wie diese weitergehen soll. Oder die Lehrerin/ der Lehrer lässt das Ende offen und die Kinder malen oder schreiben in Teams, wie die Geschichte endet. Danach erzählt jedes Team das Ende seiner Geschichte mit Hilfe der Stäbe.

There was once a beautiful princess.... (pick up a pink rod and stand it up)...who lived all alone in a magic castle (lay down four small green rods in a square to enclose the pink rod). An evil witch..... (take a black rod and stand it up some distance away) .....cast a spell on the princess and she could not leave the castle (pick up the pink rod and show it unable to move beyond the green walls). The princess had only one friend: her dog (put a white square rod next to the pink one).

One day a handsome prince came riding by the castle on his horse (stand a dark green rod on top of a brown rod which is lying down and place them near the castle)As the prince rode near the castle the princess' dog jumped out of the window and ran up tp the prince (pick up the white rod and place it near the dark green and brown ones). Now it's up to the kids to end the story!

Instructions for building structures
Which tower collapses and who manages to build it?
follow the instructions
- Take the blue rod and put it on the table in front of you, standing up!
- Take the purple rod and put it standing up on the right, next to the blue one.
- Take the orange rod and put it behind the blue one, standing up.
- Take the brown rod and put it standing up behind the purple one and next to the orange one.
- Take the black rod and put it carefully on the top of the purple one, standing up.
- Take one white rod and put it on the top of the orange one.

- Now take the red rod and put it on the top of the last one you have just placed.
- Take the yellow rod and put it on top of the blue one in front of the two smaller rods.
- Take the dark green rod and put it standing up on the top of the brown one, next to the stak of orange, white and red ones.
- Take the lime green rod and put it on the top of the black one, standing up
- in the end, take the other white rod and put it on the tp of the red one.
