To be or not to be in the library?

The Scenario
You are a teacher at ABC Community School. Over the last five years, your Teacher Librarian has been transitioning the library into a Library Learning Commons (LLC), and with this transition she has been playing with the idea of adding a Makerspace to the LLC. Book circulation is declining, fewer students come in at lunch hour, and she is looking for new ways to renew interest in the library space. The librarian is not sure if a Makerspace will be an effective, useful and beneficial addition for your students and school community. She has created an interactive presentation designed to give you some background information before you form and share your opinion, with helpful quotes and links to further readings if needed. Together, your staff will share and discuss their results, ultimately deciding if a Makerspace should be added in your LLC or elsewhere in the school.
