Classroom Rules

Classroom Rules

  • Respect all ideas given in class and do not criticize anybody's ideas or thoughts.
  • Come to class prepared to learn.
    • (Pencils sharpened, pen, paper, and notebooks)
  • Respect all property.
    • (School property, personal property, and no vandalism. Don't write or carve on your desk or school property.)
  • Cell phones are only allowed out of the burlap pockets with teacher’s permission & for educational purposes.
    • No Exceptions & this includes earbuds.

Class Expectations

  • Read any assigned literature
    • Expect questions, pop quizzes, worksheets, etc..
  • Hand in assignments on time
    • Homework, projects, classwork
      • Any incomplete classwork will automatically become homework
      • The limit for tardy work is 3 days
      • Follow the different instructions within each assignment
  • Do your part in group projects or assignments
    • Divide tasks equally and if you have any difficulties, approach your teacher
  • Keep materials neat and organized
  • Journaling notebook expectations
    • Clearly identified as student's journal
    • Journal entries should be in chronological order, following "Date, Topic" format
    • Entries should be written neatly and legibly, free from errors
    • Have teacher's signature or stamp for each corrected journal entry

  • Class notebook expectations
    • Student agreement & classroom policies need to be stapled or glue to first pages of the notebook
    • Notes should be chronological order, following “Date, Theme, Objective” format
    • Reading materials/ worksheets should be in a stapled or glued to your notebook
    • Notes should be written in pencil, blue or black ink.

    • Check Google Classroom everyday
      • You must login to Google Classroom in order to verify your grades, resources, upcoming projects, etc.
    • Communicate with teacher
      • If you’re having trouble with an assignment/concept approach your teacher (I’m here to help!)
    • Punctuality
      • You will have 5 minutes in between your previous class to arrive
      • You must arrive within that period of time in order to be marked present
      • If you need to be absent make sure you communicate with teacher

    Uniforms

    Your regular school uniform should be used when you do not have Physical Education

    • Gentlemen: You must wear your shirt tucked into your school pants, use a black belt and school shoes
    • Ladies: Your school jumper must be no shorter than the top of your knee (9th-11th)/ Your shirt must be tucked into your school skirt which should be no shorter than the top of your knee (12th grade) with white socks and black school shoes

    • Will be used only on the days you have Physical Education
    • The following will not be allowed as part of the uniform:

    Disciplinary Measures

    For all disciplinary interventions:

    • 1st intervention: Verbal warning
    • 2nd intervention: Written warning
    • 3rd intervention: Student will be sent to the office for his/her parents to pick him/her up

    • The letter can be in English or Spanish (it’s for your future eyes only)
    • I will seal it and we will open this capsule on your last day of class to see all you accomplished during your last year of High School.
