Teaching support
The Teaching and learning support (SEP) is available to help teachers develop and adapt their teaching, and support them in the different procedures linked to our University’s quality assurance processes. It offers workshops, teaching lunches, and other activities to help teachers develop their pedagogical skills and reflective practices. Teachers can also benefit from personalized support to develop their teaching.

Student evaluations of teaching
Student evaluation of teaching helps teachers understand how students perceive their teaching. Each semester, all courses and seminars are systematically evaluated. The Teaching and learning support (SEP) pilots the procedure, which starts 4 weeks before the end of the semester. Students have 3 weeks to complete one questionnaire for each of their classes. The students receive an email with the link to the questionnaire on IS-Academia.
Teachers are encouraged to personalize the questionnaire and add relevant questions in order to get a more complete feedback from their students. Before the end of the semester teachers give a feedback to students about the results of the evaluation for each course respectively.

Need to learn french?
The Institut de langue et civilisation françaises offers several French language classes for non-native speakers. Most of the French programmes take place during the semester but a summer course is also available in July. The Language Centre’s tandem programme is always available after registration on our online platform. In tandem partnership, two people with different first languages help one another progress in each other's language. The Language Centre also offers courses in English and German, as well as individual coaching in French, German and English.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES
The introduction of the concept of learning objectives accompanies a paradigm shift at the level of university education in the Bologna era. Today, university education aims to be less centred on the content to be transmitted and rather focused on the learning process and the learning objectives to be achieved by the students. The formulation of learning objectives allows teachers to conceptualise their teaching by taking as a starting point not the extent of the material to be covered, but the learning targeted.
Learning objectives specify the knowledge and skills that students must have achieved at the end of a course: "what a person knows, understands and/or is able to do after accomplishing a process of learning” (swissuniversities).

generative ai and teaching
Generative AI is transforming how we teach, learn, and create. It offers new opportunities for personalized learning, formative assessment, and academic support—but also raises important questions about integrity, transparency, and responsible use. Several resources exist at UniNE to help teachers better understand the challenges with Generative AI in their teaching and learning.
