Expectations

Participation is key in a creative environment. I expect each student to actively engage in class discussions, critiques, and group projects. Respect for the ideas, work, and feedback of others is fundamental. Constructive criticism should be offered kindly, and diverse perspectives should be valued and explored.

Engage Actively and Respectfully

Graphic design thrives on innovation and experimentation. I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, try new techniques, and explore unconventional ideas. Making mistakes is a part of the learning process—embrace it as an opportunity for growth and discovery.

Experiment and Take Creative Risks

Time management is crucial in the design world. Assignments and projects come with deadlines to simulate real-world challenges and prepare you for professional expectations. Plan your work, adhere to timelines, and communicate proactively if you encounter obstacles. Your ability to deliver quality work on time demonstrates professionalism and respect for the learning environment and your peers.

Meet Deadlines & Manage Projects

To ensure a focused and productive learning environment, I kindly ask that you keep your phones put away during class time. To ensure phones are not disruptive you have two choices: 1. Keep them turned off and in your backpack, OR 2. Place them in the phone holder provided in the classroom. Phone usage during instructional time can disrupt your learning and the learning of others. If phone usage becomes an issue, you will be referred to the office for discipline. 1st - Verbal reminder 2nd - Email home 3rd - Written referral to offfice
