Professionalism
“The Georgia Professional Standards Commission has adopted standards that represent the conduct generally accepted by the education profession. The code defines unethical conduct justifying disciplinary sanction and provides guidance for protecting the health, safety and general welfare of students and educators, and assuring the citizens of Georgia a degree of accountability within the education profession.”
The Code of Ethics for Educators June 15, 2015
It is the responsibility of the student to be aware and follow the specifics of each of the following handbooks:
- University's Student Code of Conduct
- District's Student Code of Conduct
- School's Student Code of Conduct
Dress Code
Pre-service teachers should comply with the dress code for the faculty of the school to which they are assigned.
Attendance
Pre-service teachers should adhere to teacher contract hours.
School Calendar
Pre-service teachers should follow the schedule of the school to which they are assigned.
Mandates
Confidentiality
Mandated Reporter
Adhere to Georgia PSC Code of Ethics, Standard 7: Confidential Information, which specifies that school system information and student records remain confidential.
Georgia Law requires school system employees and volunteers to report suspected child abuse to the appropriate authority according to the local child abuse reporting protocol.

Pre-service teachers have multiple layers of support.
