NEXT QUESTION
The IPCC report published in April 2022 highlights the need for an immediate and radical reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across all sectors in order to limit global warming to 1.5°C. CCUS (Carbon capture, utilization and storage) figures in the portfolio of solutions to be rolled out in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

NEXT QUESTION
Today, CO2 capture is defined by a broad portfolio of processes at varying stages of maturity. We currently capture between 35 and 40 Mt of CO2 annually. Some thirty large-scale facilities are in operation around the world to decarbonize electricity production (coal-fired power stations, gas-fired power stations) and industry (steel, cement, chemical plants, waste processing)

END
The French National Low-Carbon Strategy published in 2020 aims to capture 15 million tons of CO2 annually. Of this total, 5 million tons will come from residual emissions generated by major emitting industries and 10 million will make it possible to achieve negative emissions, i.e., remove some of the CO2 present in the atmosphere. The rapid increase in the number of Club CO2 members reflects industry’s growing interest in CCUS
