Reason

In the spring Holydays I went to the Bucher Balmer to look for an English book. I went to the department where the English books are and as I walked in, the cover of the book “One of us is lying” appealed to me immediately. I read the book content and it was very interesting. I started reading and I couldn’t stop. It was very exiting until the end and funny as well.

Topic:

“One of us is lying” is a mystery and a fiction story. This story is about 5 Students at the Bayview High School. They’re getting detention and only 4 leave alive. Everybody in this room has a secret and during the story these secrets get released.

Plot:

Simon Kelleher has a particular talent for uncovering the secrets of students at Bayview High School. He uses a gossip app he created called “About That” to spread these secrets. One September afternoon, Simon and four other students find themselves in detention. Addy Prentiss, Bronwyn Rojas, Cooper Clay, and Nate Macauley: four completely unrelated teenagers brought together. A teacher, Mr. Avery, has given all five students detention for having their cell phones in class, which they all claim were planted. When a car crash happened outside, Mr. Avery left to make sure no one was hurt. What happened next nobody expected...

Plot:

Simon took a drink of water and collapsed. After a long search for an EpiPen, which they couldn’t find, Simon was taken away by paramedics and soon he was pronounced dead. Each of them has a secret that must never be revealed… But the question is how far will they go to protect it? Who killed Simon and why?

My Opinion:

I liked the book because it was super exciting and very amusing until the end. I though it was great that you could always read it from different perspectives of the main characters, which mad it a lot more realistic. This story tells how 4 strangers’ band together to prove their innocence. I found the story very self-paced and difficult to stop reading after a chapter. I highly recommend this book, especially for teenagers.
