What is The Owl House?

• The Owl House is an American animated television series produced by Disney Television Animation for the Disney Channel. It was created by Dana Terrace and premiered on January 10, 2020 in the United States.

• The series has 3 seasons, the first and second have already aired and now they are making the third and final season, which will be 3 specials of 44 minutes, but Dana wanted a season complete, no only 3 especials.

• Dana Terrace is an American director, cartoonist, writer and screenwriter.
• Dana has worked on many shows and films throughout her career, for example as an animator on Gravity Falls and in the film Michelle VS The Machines.
• An actually, Dana is dating with Alex Hirsch, the creator of Gravity Falls

SYNOPSIS

This series tells the story of Luz Noceda, a teenager of Dominican origin with a great imagination and an admirer of magic, who accidentally comes across a portal that takes her to a dimension where magic exists. There she become friend of Eda, the most wanted witch in the islands, better known as 'The Owl Lady' and King, a little demon, who calls himself the king of demons, who will help her in her adventure.

The Owl House is a series that grabs you from the beginning because of the charisma and innocence of its characters, it is very easy to understand the world and get attached to the characters; the series also touches on LGBTI+ issues which is a great step forward for a Disney series.

Disney's controversy

• The Owl House is the first serie of Disney, which include LGTB+ carachaters.
• And Disney doesn't like that so they cancelled the serie, doing a season 3 only with 3 episodes, when Dana wanted 20 episodes and another season.
• For that reason, on Twitter, Dana created the #MoreTheOwlHouse, and lot of persons are trying win this 'battle', doing fanarts and many people are signing up at this link:

• In 2021, 'The Owl House' won the 'Peabody Awards' for best children's and youth programme and 'DayTime Emmy Awards' for outstanding main title in a daytime animated programme.
• And, it was dominated for the '32º GLAAD Media Awards' for exceptional programme for children and families and for the 'Annie Awards' for Best character design.

My opinion

In my opinion, I recommend you to watch the series, because once you start you want to know how it will end, also it has great animation and a good story development.
