1 . Characteristics

Physical Appearance

• thick grey & yellow-tinged fur
• solid spots on head, neck & lower limbs
• rosettes over rest of body

• long, thick tails
• short forelimbs & long hind limbs
• large, furry paws

Behavior

• shy, elusive cats
• crepuscular
• known for solitary nature

• cubs are ca. 2 years old --> disperse from mother
• communication: leave markings on landscape

• not aggressive towards humans.

Diet

• opportunist eaters
• strictly carnivores
• capable of killing prey up to 3x their weight

• ambush predator + attack prey from above
• remains close to kill & returns over period of 3-4 days to feed.
