Our Mission and Vision

Our Mission The KSU TRIO Programs mission is to motivate students to achieve their dreams, empower TRIO families to succeed, and enrich our communities. We will serve as a channel in helping students excel in all facets of life. Our Vision The KSU TRIO Programs vision is to produce students who will impact their families and communities as a result of their participation in educational, social, and cultural services offered by the program.

Our Goals

Empower socially and economically challenged students to successfully graduate from high school.

Aid students and their families in the college admissions process.

Motivate students to enroll and graduate from the postsecondary institution of their choice.

Enrich students' lives academically, socially, and culturally.

Our Technology Platforms

What sets us apart

Each program has a Director and an Advisor who are dedicated and passionate about student success. Each student will be assigned to a student success coach who will check in with them daily to ensure they are in class and ready to learn. Each class will have an instructor who is knowledgeable about their field and eager to teach our students. Each class will have an assistant who will make sure everyone is respectful, on task, and understands the material.

The Owlette

The Owlette is the yearly magazine KSU TRIO publishes that contains student work from the summer, senior profiles, and photos from throughout the previous year. Due to the pandemic, we have transitioned all operations to a virtual platform, meaning that we have not had access to students in order to take as many photos as in previous years. In order to fill the Owlette this year, we will be focusing on generating as much student content as possible. Instructors, please integrate interdisciplinary projects into your lesson plans. Success coaches, please encourage students to post selfies and snapshots of them doing their work on instagram using the hashtag #ksutriotogether.
