Inflation and massive debts resulting from WWI.
1. During the early XX century, the territory of Libya was considered poor in natural resources. 2. Libya´s economy depended almost entirely on aid and imports from other countries. ej. Italy & United States. 3. In the early 1920´s, their GDP (Gross Domestic Product )per capita, increased up to 40 dollars. 4. Lybia´s 90% of the territory was based in the Sahara Desert, so the majority of the population lived in the north coast.

In Libya was established an Italian program of immigration called “demographic colonization”, which means that some cultures interpolate between others.

Considering that Libya was controlled by the ottoman empire before Italy started a colonization process. 2. islams have always been the majority of the population, however the italians that colonized the country, increased the amount of christianism and catholicism in Libya during the time in which Italy colonized it.

It was a settlement colony considering that many Italians migrated and lived in Libya during colonization.
Motives of colonization
1. Geographical location - closeness to the southern part of Italy. 2. Only country the could colonize after agreement with france and the division of morocco for france and Libya for Italy, a sphere of interest in the north of Africa. 3. Inmigration: for avoiding citizens migrate to other non-ruled nations by Italy. 4. Opportunity for economical expansion - finding new natural resources and raw material.
