Corals are tiny animals called popyps which secrete limestone as a skeleton. They divide as they grow and form coral colonies. As such the colonies build up on top of each other, they gradually form a coral reef. It's form in places where water temperatures remain over 18°C for long periods. They usually need very saline water.

the problem

Naturel Dammage

Today this little paradise is in danger, because the reefs found there are disturbed by natural events such as hurricanes and tropical storms or by disease or predators like the crown-of-thorn starfish that feeds the corals .

But we have also the global climate change may also cause a rise in the water temperature and therefore damage or kill the reefs.
