WHO IS THE SINGER?
Neutral Milk Hotel was an American band formed in Ruston, Louisiana, by musician Jeff Mangum. They were active from 1989 to 1998, and again from 2013 to 2015. The band's music featured a deliberately low-quality sound, influenced by indie rock and psychedelic folk. Mangum was the lyricist, and wrote surreal and opaque songs that covered a wide range of topics, including love, spirituality, nostalgia, sex, and loneliness. He and the other band members played a variety of instruments, including non-traditional rock instruments like the singing saw, uilleann pipes, and Digital Horn.
Indie rock is a subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States and United Kingdom in the 1970s, Originally used to describe independent record labels. Psychedelic folk is a loosely of psychedelia that originated in the 1960s. It retains the largely acoustic instrumentation of folk, but adds musical elements common to psychedelic music.
Two
One, two, three, four The only girl I've ever loved
Was born with roses in her eyes
But then they buried her alive
One evening 1945
With just her sister at her side
And only weeks before the guns
All came and rained on everyone Now she's a little boy in Spain
Playing pianos filled with flames
On empty rings around the sun
All sing to say my dream has come
But now we must pick up every piece
Of the life we used to love
Just to keep ourselves
At least enough to carry on And now we ride the circus wheel
With your dark brother wrapped in white
Says it was good to be alive
But now he rides a comet's flame
And won't be coming back again
The earth looks better from a star
That's right above from where you are
He didn't mean to make you cry
With sparks that ring and bullets fly
On empty rings around your heart
The world just screams and falls apart But now we must pick up every piece
Of the life we used to love
Just to keep ourselves
At least enough to carry on
And here's where your mother sleeps
And here is the room where your brothers were born
Indentions in the sheets
Where their bodies once moved but don't move anymore And it's so sad to see the world agree
That they'd rather see their faces fill with flies
All when I'd want to keep white roses in their eyes
WHAT IS THE SONG AND WHAT DOES IT TALK?
The song contains references to Anne Frank. In 1945, World War II ended, and Anne and her sister Margot died of typhus. The lyrics "everyone when they wish they had white roses in their eyes" could be seen as a reference to the White Rose resistance group that existed in Nazi Germany in the early 1940s, although composer Jeff Mangum claims he had never heard of it.
This year marked the end of World War II, after the defeat of the Axis Powers (Fascist Italy, Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan respectively); Allied forces (particularly the United States and the Soviet Union) emerge as global superpowers and rapidly establish hegemony around the world; but that would bring about the beginning of an ideological rivalry known as the Cold War that would begin two years later.
It was also the year in which nuclear weapons were used for the first and only time during the final stage of the global conflagration, when the United States decided to drop two atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, causing the total destruction of the mentioned cities. and the direct death of thousands of civilians, thus contributing to the end of the war.

CAUSES OF THESE EVENTS
World War II broke out after these aggressive actions were met with a declaration of war, armed resistance, or both, by the countries attacked and those with which they had treaties. At first, the allied countries were made up of only Poland, the United Kingdom and France, while the Axis forces were made up of only Germany and Italy in an alliance called the Pact of Steel.
The war causes of the outbreak of World War II are, in the West, the invasion of Poland by German troops and, in the East, the Japanese invasion of China, the British and Dutch colonies and later the attack on Pearl Harbor.

AMERICAN SPORTS IN THE 20th CENTURY
Sports have been an important part of American culture since the 19th century. In turn, the United States has strongly influenced world sport in several aspects: its achievements in international tournaments, the attractiveness of its national tournaments, the technological and scientific development of sport, the commercialization and diffusion of professional sport, and its role in the creation and management of various disciplines.
- Baseball -> Invented in the Northeast of the country towards the end of the 18th century, it was the most popular sport in the United States from the end of the 19th century until the 1990s, when American football began its reign as the most popular sport. The NABBP established the first professional league in 1869. Over the next three decades, various leagues competed to attract top professional clubs and players.
- American football -> Professional American football had its first league in 1920 in what later became the National Football League (NFL). Since the merger of the NFL and AFL in 1970, the conference champions have played a single game in the Super Bowl, the most watched sporting event in the United States. Considering the complete history, the Green Bay Packers hold 15 NFL championships, followed by the Chicago Bears with nine, and the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants with eight.
- Basketball -> The first professional basketball league was founded in 1898. The current National Basketball Association (NBA) was founded in 1946 and currently has 30 teams. The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers are the most successful teams in NBA history with 17 titles each, followed by the Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors with six and the San Antonio Spurs with five.
The NBA has attracted the best basketball players in the world for decades. So much so that the United States basketball team has repeatedly lacked the best athletes because it seemed more attractive to compete in their country than abroad. When they did, they were remarkably successful, especially at the Olympics and the World Basketball Championships.
- Ice hockey -> Its very popular in United States. Between 1942 and 1967 the National Hockey League (NHL) ,created in Canada, had only six teams: Boston Bruins, Chicago Black Hawks, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers. The NHL has grown in numbers over time by expanding to cities in the southern and western United States. It is currently disputed between 31 teams: 7 from Canada and 24 from the United States.
