Relevent Legislation

Animal Welfare Act 2006 Will be important for any horses arriving on site and riding school horses. It is important that they are happy and healthy and have the 5 animal welfare needs provided for them. It is important we monitor horses coming to the event which may be suffering from abuse such as being emaciated or over worked when lacking the correct fitness. It is also important to keep track of any riding school horses being loaned on the day as their workload could possibly be increased leading to a potential exercise induced injury. Health and safety at work act Needs to be put in place and risk assessments on tasks identified before the event to prevent injuries. The health and safety act helps protect employees at work from injuries caused by poor training and management, it makes the employer liable to any harm that may come to an employee due to inadequate training provided. Riding School insurance Horse riding school insurance is a policy that covers damages and issues this could be important to look into if its up to date, as you may be liable to any damages that could potentially occur.

Relevent Legislation

Public liability insurance Protects you in the incident that a third party brings you to court in the event of an accident resulting in injury or death.Due to the fact that horses are unpredictable animals that can cause serious harm, its important to cover yourself in the event something may occur on the event day. Codes of practice at caistor equestrian centre Covers a companies policy that outlines the principles and standards all employees and third party memebers must follow when acting on behalf of the company. Caistor equestrian centres document linked below. Environmental Regulations Insurance regulations First aid at work regulation Means appropriate first aid equipment should be provided within the work place in the event on an injury. It is requires 1 first aider to a workplace with 5-50 employees. Caistor has around 40-50 employees and around 20 emergency at work first aiders. Horse Passports Although this event is unaffiliated people will be bringing their own horses and vaccinations and passports will be require on the event. Vaccination history will be important as the centre is run as a riding school and it would loose a lot of income if anything such as strangles was brought onto the premesis. BSJA We will be following the british showjumping rules and regulations GDPR Stands for govement data protection regulations that should be put in place when dealing with peoples personal data. Due to the fact we will be taking peoples names, addresses and phone numbers on the day it is important all information is kept in a locked file away from public view. Event Management

Event reflection ( task 4)

What went well ? We managed to make a profit greater than we expected. The clients gave great reviews and the children loved joining in, many for the first event. I feel we all did a great job in providing our service and helping client have memberable experience in order to promote lincoln college and caistor equestrian centre.

What i would do differently next time/ What can be improved I would have staff that actually wanted to run the event . More staff to cover any unforceen problems and help the event run smoothly.

What problems occured The problems that i found were that some team members didnt pull there weight and seemed uninterested, this had a knock on effect by other team members having to do their jobs as well as their own. Also one team member left in the middle of the event, this caused a massive problem as their duties were not forfilled therefore myself and other members of the team had to forfill these duties as well as our own. A horse escaped, causing damage to an electric fence containing riding school horses. I then had to leave my duties to rescue and help repair the damage caused by the horse. All these events were unforceen and in planning an event in the future i will make sure these are covered.

What did i enjpy? I enjoyed the organisation period of designing and planning our event, i feel we worked well as a team and helped bring our project to life. it gave me great pleasure working with the children, especially a young girl called milly fll of a william a horse and i help boost her confidence and self esteam but helping her back on the horse and running the course along side her.
