• The 1980s were full of great and aimportant events
• For many people, the 80's were years of recovery and starting over, after the hard times of the previous decades

• The 1980s were a decade with many persons that made the difference in various areas.
• Music, sports, cinema had lots of personalities that ifluenced the times of the 1980s.

Music

• Pop music revolutinized the 80's, but there were other genres that popped up like Hip Hop, Hair Metal, etc.
• In 1981, Music Television (MTV) began broadcasting in August
• Many artists grow with the appearance of MTV, like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, etc.

Sports

• The three major American sports in the 80's was Baseball, Basketball and football;
• Throughout this decade, American sports lived unprecedent financial prosperty and a lot of reputation;
• Names like Michael Jordan in Basketball, Maradona in Soccer, Greg LeMond in Cycling and Myke Tyson in Boxing, were a very important part of the growth of sport in the 1980s.
