Write about the importance of a hard drive in a computer.
The hard drive is one of the most important components found in computers because it allows them to save programs, data, and files; in addition to that, it is there where the operating system is usually installed, which means that a computer can not boot up if it doesn’t have one.
Furthermore, the file read, write, and system booting speed can be affected by the hard drive revolutions per minute, and that’s why it is important to have one with a decent speed; this brings me to my next point: although the term hard drive means HDD, a storage device that uses SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment), nowadays is often mistakenly used to referrer to Solid State Drives. SSDs are faster and more practical than HDDs, though that doesn’t mean these last ones are useless; they suppose a great external storage device alternative because they’re usually cheaper than their counterparts.
