FREE TOURISTIC GUIDANCE
Objective
To boost student’s foreign language learning, integrating translation techniques, using their own mother tongue’s knowledge in order to provide and bring accurate information in both the target language and the native one.
FREE TOURISTIC GUIDANCE
Introduction
rEAL eNVIRONMENT
First of all, students will be given a tutorial where they will learn about the most tourist places of the city, such as; restaurants, parks, beaches, islands. But they will also be taught about, vocabulary, terms, frequent words used in tourist activities. So this way, a pre-recognition of the activity that will be carried out is done
Secondly, students or learners will be exposed to a real interaction with tourist people in the place of practice, at this stage they will be intruded on how to approach a person in the target language and what information needs to be offered, in terms of; personal presentation, asking for personal information etc.
Real Practice
Feedback
Third of all, students are grouped in pairs, both to accompany and provide information to the tourist or group of tourists. So while one speaks or says things in the native language, the other translates or speaks to them in the second language. In this way, translation techniques are put into practice, meanwhile skills and abilities of the students are strengthened.
Finally, students should present a report or summary of the activities that was being carried out during the guiding, they should also talk about their experiences, in terms of if they were good, had they any difficulties, what they think could learn, what they guess should correct and so on.
