Crusty eyes blink open just as my head slams forward against the visor, safety harness straining against my pressure suit...

Things get hazy around the edges as I slowly pass out

Where am I ?

My eyes slowly open and I blink repeatedly

My tongue is pasted to the roof of my mouth as the onboard oxygen sensors flood my helmet with air.

I look out the window and I know where I am...I just have no idea who I am or how I got here.

The comm unit crackles to life..."We have you on visual Vestra-4. Remove manual control and engage autopilot. Welcome to Mars, Juarez. Over."

Throat still heavy, the words come out but they feel like they're not your own...

Your hands move of their own accord. Flipping switches you know nothing about.

Your headset crackles, "Roger Vestra-4. Autopilot engaged. We have the ball. Get down to the surface pronto. I think the Colonel wants to see you yesterday. Good Luck, Juarez.Over."

The same robotic female voice says, "Step forward and look directly into the red light."

While you've been bioscanned hundreds of times before, it still gives you the chills.

The flat female voicee asks, "What sector?" You croak out your reply. "Five"

As if she neveer heard you,"Initiating security scan..."A minute later, the voice asks, "What is your final destination?"You reply, "I told you, Sector 5."

The computer voice responds, "Incorrect."You think and almost without thinking you whisper, "Planet 9."

The blue access card slowly slides back into your grasp as the doors slide silently open.

After what seems like an eternity, the voice responds,"Access granted. Have a nice day."

With a silent flicker of movement, the elevator decends beneath the Martian surface.
