BE CAREFUL!

NOT: I am knowing that man. She's prefering tea. We are having a new car. NOT: I am wanting a new job. She's loving her job. We are owning a shop.

HOWEVER: Some native speakers say: "I'm loving it!" OR "I'm still loving you". (This is very informal)

It depends on the context of the sentence.

  • What are you thinking?
  • How are you feeling?(physically)
  • Are you smelling the rose?
  • My mother is tasting the soup.
  • We are having dinner now.
  • She is seeing the doctor tomorrow (=She's having an appointment )
  • Are you currently seeing anyone? (dating)
  • I think you are right.(opinion)
  • Your hair feels soft. (to the touch)
  • The barbecue smells good.
  • This soup tastes delicious.
  • We have a small house. (possesion)
  • I see you smiling now./ Can you see that man over there?
