A fluid, whether it is a gas or a liquid, will be called Newtonian if the constraints that we observe when we try to move inside it are linearly proportional to the speed at which we move.

We can observe that when we enter the mixture we can sink while if we tap on it nothing can enter. When the speed increases then the viscosity also. This phenomenon is due to the change in the type of association between the macromolecules. At a low shear rate there are mainly intramolecular interactions and conversely there are intermolecular interactions and leads to the "gelling" of the solution
