CPR

CPR combines rescue breathing and chest compressions. provides oxygen to the person's lungs. keep oxygen-rich blood flowing until the heartbeat and breathing can be restored. Permanent brain _______ or death can occur within minutes if blood flow stops. Therefore, it is very important that blood flow and breathing be continued until trained medical help or AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) arrives.

LIFE-SAVING PROCEDURES CPR -- AED -- Heimlich maneuver -- Tourniquets

Tourniquets

Tourniquets: A tourniquet is a device that can be used on arms or legs to stop blood flow for brief periods of time. It should be used on people with injuries causing life-threatening bleeding that cannot be controlled with direct pressure. Tourniquets can be improvised with neckties, strips of clothing, belts and even electrical wires.
