Preterit or Past Continuous?
How to play ?
A sentence is going to appear on the board.You have to think: Do you conjugate the verb to: the preterit or to the past continuous ? You have a few second to decide and to chose the correct card. When the teacher says "ON TOP": You have to put the card above your head.
Example
She (to sleep) and she fell off her bed.
Example
She was sleeping and she fell off her bed.
Past continuous !
Like always, we (to arrive) at the airport at 4pm.
Like always, we arrived at the airport at 4pm.
Preterit !
I (to eat) an apple when he arrived.
I was eating an apple when he arrived.
Past continuous
They arrived when she ( to leave).
They arrived when she was leaving.
Past continuous

Preterit !
He (to throw) a rock at the robber to protect himself.
He threw a rock at the robber to protect himself.
