Henri Moissan discovered fluorine in 1886, whilst fluorine had already been 'discovered' Moissan was the first to isolate it into its own element by passing an electric current through hydrogen fluoride.
Fluorine is found in small amounts in water, air, plants and animals and is found in the human body in small amounts due to the consumption of these things
Fluorine is not essential for human life but does strengthen bones and dental health if taken in small amounts
If fluorine is taken in too frequently, it can be dangerous and cause things like tooth decay, osteoporosis, and harm to the kidneys, bones, nerves, and muscles. If fluorine is absorbed in lesser amounts it can cause nose and eye irratations.
Fluorine is a room temperature yellow gas that, when exposed to light, will glow in the dark
Fluorine is used in toothpaste, refrigerators and rocket fuel. It is also used to make nuclear material.
