¿Cuándo se usa el future simple?

  • Eventos futuros probables
  • Decisiones o ideas espontáneas
  • Voluntad para hacer una actividad
  • Dar órdenes
  • Proponer o invitar algo

Will or going to se refieren a hechos futuros pero se usan en contextos diferentes. Mientras que will se usa para prometer cosas y hablar de decisiones espontáneas, going to es más común para hablar de hacer planes o intenciones.

FUTURO CON WILL

Eventos futuros probables

  • It will snow this weekend
  • Va a nevar este fin de semana

Sujeto + auxiliar will + verbo en infinitivo + complemento

Decisiones o ideas espontáneas

  • I will pick you up tomorrow
  • Yo te voy a recoger mañana

Sujeto + auxiliar will + verbo en infinitivo + complemento

Voluntad para hacer una actividad

  • They will repair my TV tomorrow
  • Ellos van a reparar mi televisión mañana

Sujeto + auxiliar will + verbo en infinitivo + complemento

Dar órdenes

You will not go to the party!

  • Yo no voy a ir a la fiesta!

Proponer o invitar algo

FUTURO CON GOING TO

GOING TO

Existe otra forma de futuro que utiliza going to en lugar de will. Hay que conocer bien los usos de cada uno para evitar confusiones, ya que una de sus traducciones es ir a hacer. Going to se usa para: Planes que es 100% seguro que van a ocurrir:

I am going to present my final exams tomorrow

  • (Mañana voy a presentar mis exámenes finales).
