Use the verb to be to talk about personal information ( country, nationality, occupation, location, weather, feeling, likes and dislikes). Has many types of sentences
Affirmative: I like play soccer.Negative: David isn´t a nurse. (we use the contraction only when we talk, this is informal) Interrogative: Are they doctor? No, they aren´t. They are nurses.

For negative or questions sentences use "did".Subject + did + verb + complement. Did + subject + verb + complement. For example: He didn't close the windown. Did he close the windown? Subject + simple past verb + complement. Silvia told me she wanted a full time job. I wrote a letter to my boyfriend.
