What is scrum

It is an agile methodology for delivering projects through phases called sprints which last two to four weeks. The purpose is to be able to provide the greatest business value in the shortest time possible. Teams work on delivering timely features with periodic adjustments and feedback.Scrum is based on values such as focus, courage, openness, respect and commitment. It also has principles such as self-organization, transparency, collaboration and adaptation. Scrum is flexible and applicable in different industries.

THE SCRUM FRAMEWORK

Srum organizes and executes work using agile methods, to do so it manages three roles:

  • Product Owner (PO): Focuses on delivery, controls the budget, and manages the backlog.
  • The Scrum Master: leads the team, prevents the team from having problems and ensures its functionality.
  • The development team: adds features to the product and self-organizes.

It is important to have an environment that allows all team members to make changes and participate in the delivery of the final product.

Scrum ceremonies

Scrum ceremonies highlight product backlog preparation, sprint planning, sprint, daily scrum meeting, sprint review, and sprint retrospective.

In the seremosnias the team has the purpose of:

-In preparing the backlog, the Product Owner (PO) reviews the backlog items. -In sprint planning, the team selects items from the backlog and makes a commitment. -The sprint is the work period which generally lasts from one to four weeks. -The daily Scrum meeting is held daily and lasts 15 minutes to report on tasks and address potential issues. The purpose of reviewing Srint is to see its results, whether it is viable or not, and to discuss its improvements.

Scrum Artifacts

The main artifact of scrum is the “product backlog”, it is a list of possible changes to the product established by the Product Owner (PO). The PO continually prioritizes and manages this list to maintain a clear vision of the product. The Sprint Backlog is the collection of items selected from the product backlog for delivery in the next sprint. This backlog does not change during the sprint, and any uncompleted tasks are returned to the product backlog. The Sprint Goal is the collection of product elements that the team plans to complete by the end of the sprint. The PO decides whether to release the increment or continue it in future sprints. The Sprint Evolution Chart is the graphical representation that shows the team's progress during the sprint. It uses the story points metric and helps monitor the progress of the sprint, if the progress line does not advance the sprint master intervenes to prevent the failure of the sprint

Agile methodologies

Agile methodologies are the flexible approach to software development that prioritize adaptability, collaboration and updates. Its purpose is to respond quickly to changes, encourage constant communication, and continually improve the development process.
