  • get jobs in developing countries
  • the wages workers in developing countries receive is enough for them to feed their families

  • plays a huge role in destruction of environment, especially climate change)
  • there are so many losers due to globalisation
  • inequalities have to be reduced
  • it is understandable to want to protect your own country from foreign competition
  • growing dependence from other countries
  • increase of homogenisation
  • consumerism, not globalisation, is to blame for the destruction of environment
  • there are organisations which try to protect the rights of workers in developing countries
  • we should not create new trade barriers
  • global trade is good for the economy of the country

Deglobalisation

definition:

  • a movement towards a less connected world, characterized by powerful nation states, local solutions, and border controls rather than global institutions, treaties, and free movement

  • characterised by protectionist measures
    • customs duties
    • variable export / import levy
    • quotas
    • environmental regulation
    • technical standards

reasons:

  • increase of negative effects
  • more and more automatism
  • securing the own basic state supply
