SECOND CONDITIONAL
Does everybody speak the same language on Earth? Is it a reality? Would the world be a better place if everyone spoke the same language? Why?
Everyone in the world speaking one language is an unreal or imaginary situation – it's not true. Just likesecond conditional.
If I lived in Japan, ... (This is the imaginary situation.) ... I would eat sushi almost every day. (This is the result of the imaginary situation.)
A conditional sentence has two parts. The if part tells us about the unreal or unlikely situation. The would part tells us the possible results of this situation.
If I were the queen of the world, I would make it a better place. Am I the queen of the world? How could I make the world a better place?
If I were a butterfly, I would live everyday as if it was the last. If I were you, I would be so glad that I had a teacher like me :)
If you were an animal, what animal would you be? What year would you like to ravel if you had a time machine?
- I think I would be a tiger because they are powerful and beautiful.
- I would like to travel to the year 3000, because I wonder how the daily life would be like there.
