DAY 1, 2 and 3

After a long trip in our new hydrogenic plane (less poluante), we are glad to welcome you to the National Prince Albert Park ! We are happy to accompany you for this new way to mix holidays and environmental well-being. Our team will welcome you to the airport and lead you to the start of our tour. For this first day of your incredible journey, you and a motivated group of hikers are going with us to the path to Grey Owl’s Cabin ! This hiking along the great Canadian lakes will take us to the Grey Owl’s Cabin (just like the hike's name). This hike should last all morning and noon. Take advantage of your afternoon to rest at our point of arrival, you have well deserved it ! We will get to know each other better around the fire and enjoy our first night. A little reminder : don’t forget to prepare all that is necessary to hike in a wild environment (tent, bags, sleeping bag, clothes, camera…). All the food is provided by our team. What type of peopler do we need ? Those holidays are not like the others… For this incredible journey, motivated people are preferable. But what do we imply by “motivated people” ? In this case, we are talking about people who are not afraid to give time and energy to help the environment and local people. We need some honorable behaviour and an open minded kind of spirit ! At The Bison Tour, we think that dedicated and motivated people can make huges differences in this world.
You deserved a day of rest after our long walk from yesterday. At the cabin Grey Owl’s Cabin, you’ll learn about the historical background of the park and some cultural facts about our country ! Discover the amazing story about the creation of the park and some scientific knowledge. In fact, some animators will present the different species of bison and their cycle of life. Bisons are one of the numerous features of Prince Albert Park, this second day will be useful to help to better understand this species. Feel free to learn about our fragile environment and relax .
This is one of the days where your little actions will make a huge difference ! A part of the wild and mysterious forest was destroyed during the creation of the park. That’s why together, we will restore this fragile ecosystem. With a partnership with the park and some local gardeners, we’ll make a difference by planting some local trees. In fact, this park was plagued by numerous deforestation and fires in the past… But it’s not too late ! For some years, some volunteers like you take turns to make the forest as beautiful as its glorious day. Those little actions will have an important consequence in some decennies. Be part of the ecological change !
DAY 4, 5 and 6

Prince Albert Park is not only famous for his historical background… One of the most breathtaking trails will totally disorient you. The Valleyview loop trail follows the Sturgeon River Valley, and offers a new kind of landscape. Be prepared to meet some species you’ve never seen before. Birds, fishes, mammals… It’ll take some time and patience to observe those fragile and wild fauna in their natural habitat.
The objective of this trail is not to go as fast as we could, but to enjoy natural beauty and understand our ecosystem to protect them in a better way. Moreover, this trail is long (nearly 30km !), but not dangerous or even difficult. There isn't a lot of elevation, so feel free to enjoy your journey without any inconvenience ! We will walk on this trail during 3 days, taking time to unwind.
During this long and amazing trail, you’ll have the occasion to show some hidden skills of yours ! During your journey, we invite you to take photos of the Canadian bison and the local flora and fauna. In fact, we are organizing a photography contest to raise awareness, to show that the restoration of an ecosystem is not that simple... Our photo contest has the theme “The fragile population of bison : together to protect them”. Our winner will win a cute little stuffed toy bison, provided by the park itself ! The best photos taken during the holidays will be in a Canadian exhibition about the diversity of our country. But remember, do not bother the animals or even shouting, this area is theirs, not yours !
DAY 7
7
Congratulations ! You made it through 3 days of hiking in the wild ! This day will be now the time to relax, you can enjoy the various relaxation areas surrounded by nature. And then you can enjoy a stargazing night. We will provide astronomical documents if you want to know more about the subject. In fact, this preserved area allows us to see the stars in all their beauty, due to the absence of pollution.
DAY 8
8
New day, new activity. During the eight day, we will experience a new way to travel. If you have the desire, you can take the Elk Trail, riding some horses ! But of course, the trail is possible without them if you are afraid or you don’t have the desire. Our horses are provided by a local barn, and the horses are good for all types of riding levels. As the name of the trial , you’ll have the opportunity to observe some wild elks in the west district of the park. You should be cautious of your environment and discreet, and you may observe them. But it won’t be just a smooth walk… Your observation skills will be very important, because you’ll be part of an important conservation program ! With a partnership with other volunteers and the park manager, we will count together the bison population, and transfert our data basis to help understand and protect those majestful creatures. You’ll learn some basics about conservation and counting. Thanks to your help, Prince Albert Park will have a better understanding about his local fauna and will put some conservation action if needed.
DAY 9
9
Today will be a really special day. We’ll have the great honour to welcome a group of entomologists, ornithologists and ichthyologists. Thanks to their in-depth knowledge, we will have the chance to once again observe the fauna of the lakes and watercourse. You will have the opportunity to listen to the different sounds of the park's wildlife. Moreover, we will use this day to clean up some waste of the rivers and lakes. This park is a chance for biodiversity, little action like this will help to preserve this threatened area. It’s a chance for the local species, the Canadian country and for our future generation. Between relaxation and discovery, nature has many surprises in store for us !
DAY 10
10
This is our last day… To conclude your holidays, we’ll make another environmental act together. Unfortunately, some tourists are less considerate about nature than us… In some areas of the park, there is still a lot of waste even if the park agents are putting a lot of effort into it. A little hand can help ! Together, we will pack all the waste we can in the more polluted areas and recycle as much as we can. Of course, don’t forget to bring back your waste with you ! We are hoping that this program gives you the desire to act for the planet, discover new species and of course, enjoy a well deserved rest ! This project will be possible, thanks to you.
Thank you for these 10 days ! Goodbye
