Throughout his life, Archimedes of Syracuse created many inventions, from the mythical, such as his Mirrors, which stopped an invasion, to his scientific, like his bouyancy formula, fasmously discovered in the bath.

The Archimedean screw is an impressive acheivement for ancient greece, it used a a screw shape to collect water, and move it upwards, previously the way to transport water was carrying it

Although Archimedes didnt quite discover bouyancy using a rubber duck, so the story goes he did figure it out in the bath, the equation (Fb=pgV) is how engineers figure out if boats will sink, if balloons will set sail or if pool noodles work
