  • german teacher, journalist and politician
  • In 1910, proposed an International Women’s Day to advocate for the right to vote and gender equality.
  • In 1921, Lenin declared International Women’s Day on 8 March.
  • It was not until 1977 that the UN made this day official.
  • feminist British politician
  • In 1903 : Women’s Social and Political Union
  • group quickly appointed suffragettes
  • In 1918, British women obtained the right to vote from the age of 30

Malala Yousafzai

  • At 11, she writes a blog called Diary of a Pakistani schoolgirl for the BBC
  • In 2012, she was the victim of an assassination attempt by the Taliban where she was seriously injured.
