Matter is made of small particles and is all that has mass and occupies space. Everything consist in matter plants, animals, cars and even us!

In the liquid state of matter the force of attraction between the particles is much less, so the particles can move more. Liquids do not have a defined shape, but take the shape of where they are and can flow.
In the gas state of matter the force of attraction is almost inensixtent, so the particles are free to move. They occupy all space of the place that keeps them and also they have another property: they can be compressed.
Plasma is the fourth state in matter, it is the most found in all the universe. It is similar to the state of gas but unlike of it this state only can be found in temperatures very hight. An example of where we can found plasma is in the surface of the sun or when a rocket enter to the Earth
In the solid state of matter the force of attraction between the particles is very big, so the particles are very close to each one. It has very little kinetic energy and things in a solid state are rigid.
