- for predictions based on our opinion or intuition "I think newspapers will disappear in 50 years."
- for plans or on-the-spot decisions made at the time of speaking "This article is about that new videogame. I'll save it for later!"
- for invitations, requests and offers "Will you help me with this English paperwork on journalism?"
- for promises, fears, hopes, threats "I promise I'll think about that next time."
- when there is evidence/proof that something is going to happen "There was a fight at school. It is going to be a news article about it, for sure!"
- for plans and decisions that have previously been decided "We are going to visit the New York Times office later. Do you want to come?"

- for timetables and scheduled events " The Telejornal starts at 8 p.m. and finishes at 10 p.m. "
- for personal arrangements and fixed plans, of wich we usually know the time or place "I am meeting my teacher in his office at 5pm."
