Participatory Budget: The City of Paris has one of the largest participatory budgets in the world. It was launched by Mayor Anne Hidalgo in 2014. Parisians can submit projects freely, vote for community and city-wide projects each year. The participatory budget becomes a form of expression of their expectations and needs concerning their quality of life, their immediate environment and the future of their street, their neighbourhood, their city.

Following the Climate Energy Plan of Paris aimed at reducing 75% of the greenhouse gas emissions within 2050, Vincen Callebaut imagined a project named Paris 2050. Under this architectural project, high-rise buildings will integrate several smart energy-production techniques to lower their energy demand and encourage inhabitants to be eco-friendly in their daily lives.
