Why understanding vocab is important, in school and around us

How can learning new vocab help us?
It's important to learn new vocab to help us understand in the future. It helps us in - school - tests - every day lives - our socialising abilities Expanding our vocabulary can help us work out the meanings of other words, figure out the context of text as well as analyse it. To help understand we can use methods such as bug, and finding key words:
Analysing Text
To analyse text, you can use a method called BUG: 'Describe the affect of a multicoloured dog in this picture.' Command words and phrases are the words that help you and tell you how to answer the question. Knowing the meaning of the words can make you more confident when answering the question - you understand what it's telling you to do!
