What is Community Language Learning?

What is Community Langauge Learning?

- Community Language Learning is a language teaching approach in which students work together with eachother and their teacher to develop the aspects of a language they would like to learn. The intention of Community Langugae Learning is to integrate translation so that learners disassociate language learning with risk taking.

• Teacher = counsellor & paraphraser

• The counsellor is a knower whilst the client is a learner

• A supportive community

Learners are encouraged to work together, interacting and helping eachother in a supportive community.
