Does the curse hang over the castle?
On the site where the castle stands today was the ruins of a castle. According to an old legend, a woman lived here with a former monk who robbed the coffers of a monastery. But their conscience was so heavy that they eventually plunged into the almost 100-meter gorge of the Pollätschlucht. Since then, according to legend, a white-clad figure jumps into the depths at midnight with a shout. Mark Richter, who was a castellan and guide at the castle for many years and even lived here for four years, was a direct witness to suicide in the very spirit of this old legend: he saw a woman in white rushing into the abyss from the Marian Bridge. He is said to never forget this horrible experience, especially when he later helped to rescue the body of this unfortunate woman from the depths of the gorge.

BRAN CASTLE-ROMANIA
As castles go, Bran is probably one of the spookiest. The medieval fortress in Transylvania became known as Dracula castle, despite Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, never having visited Romania. Today the castle, with its eerie turrets and stunning hilltop location, remains synonymous with the legendary vampire. Legend vs. History: All historic evidence indicates that Bran Castle was never Dracula’s castle. Count Dracula, the sadistic prince condemned to live off the blood of the living people for eternity, was the creation of Bram Stoker, a 19th century Irish novelist.
