Queen Elizabeth was born in London on 21st April 1926. Her full name was Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. Queen Elizabeth's father was King George VI. In the winter of 1951-1952 King George was very ill*. Elizabeth and Philip were* on a trip* to Africa, Sri Lanka and Australia when her father died*. When a king dies, people say « The King is dead. Long Live the King/Queen. » Elizabeth became* Queen on 2 June 1953 : it is called the Coronation. Elizabeth II died on September 8th 2022 and she was the longest reigning monarch in British history overtaking her great great grandmother 's reign, Queen Victoria.
