L'article indéfini 'an' se place devant un son voyelle sauf 'u' prononcé [ju:] et devant un 'h' muet (non aspiré). Il signifie un ou une en anglais.

L'article zéro ø ne se traduit pas en anglais. On l'utilise devant des noms au pluriel. Il peut signifier "des".
