The cliffs and forests of Rügen Island Rügen Island is at the north west of Germany in the baltic sea. It's famous for its giant cliffs 117m high and its beech' forests more than 700 years old. We can visit it: there's one hiking trail (8.5km). Rügen Island has the national park, Jasmund.

The climate of Germany is temperate , throughout the country with warm summers and cold winters, however long periods of frost or snow are rare. Rain falls throughout the year. The sun in Germany does not shine often. In winter, even when there is high pressure, a cloud layer often forms on the lowlands in winter, the average temperatures are around 2/3 °C (35/37 °F) , while the sunniest period is from April to September.The northernmost part of Germany overlooks the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Here, the weather is often cold, humid, cloudy, and rainy.The spring, from March to May, is an unstable season. On the one hand, currents from the northwest can bring cold periods, so much so that in March, and sometimes up to mid-April, it can still snow. winters are cool, cloudy and rainy; summers, on the other hand, can be hot. More than 30% of the country is covered by forests and woodlands.
