Reading
the internet
electricity
This technology was invented around 6,000 years ago. It was originally used for making pots out of clay. Later, people discovered they could also use it for travel and transporting heavy things.
This technology first appeared during the 12th and 13th centuries. It was usually in the centre of towns in a tall tower. Before that, people used shadows from the sun, or slowly moving water and sand, to tell the time.
This modern technology was invented in 1989. It lets us find information, send messages, and watch videos. You can connect to it from all over the world. Its original name was the 'world wide web'.
Scientists discovered how to use this during the 19th century, giving us better light and heating in our homes. It also gave power to many later inventions, like computers and TVs.

Important Inventions
Speaking: Example
I think the most important invention in human history is the wheel, because it allowed people to travel and transport heavy things over long distances. Without the wheel, we wouldn't have bikes, cars, or trains.
