1- Let's talk about literature

Miss PEREGRINE'S for Peculiar Children

DID I LIKE THE MOVIE ?

- was written by Ransom Riggs - genre : Young adult literature, fantasy - was published in 2011 - film adaptation diricted by Tim Burton

-> I liked it a lot even if I have a little trouble understanding the time loops. And, the plot was very interesting

THE TRAILER :

DIFferenT genre :

- Comedy - Tragedy - Drama -Fantasy -Detective story - Fairy tale -Classic Novel -Science fiction -Gothic novel - Short story ....

While working on this sequence, we learned a lot of new terms like plot, cover pages, different literary genres like comedy, drama etc. And we also learned English phonetics, which I find quite difficult and which is still very new to me.

CONCLUSION

The different literary genres discussed in this sequence are :

We also learned to describe and present a summary, the cover pages. And we also learned how to present a document correctly. It's complex at first, but with practice you understand quite quickly.

Detective story – Bildungsroman (or apprenticeship novel) – Fantasy – Drama – Short story – Parody –Allegory – Comic book – Fairy tale – Classic Novel – Science fiction – Gothic nove

We also learned to classify and name the different literary genres.

To conclude, this sequence allowed me to acquire new knowledge and skills.

Little Red Riding Hood revisits - video game

hAPPILY EVER AFTER

DID I LIKE IT ? -> I am rather neutral on this document. Even if we had to imagine a story in groups, I would have liked to know the real story of the game.

DID I LIKE IT ? -> it is not my favorite document but I still like it because it reminds us of the stories of our childhood.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

Hoodwinked

DID I LIKE IT ? -> This is one of my favorite documents, it shows a whole different story of Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf. I really liked the representation of the wolf in this document.

DID I LIKE IT ? -> yes I liked this document, it allowed me to learn the story of the creator of Little Red Riding Hood

LITTLE RED riding Wolf

GRIMM

DID I LIKE IT ? -> Concerning the trailer, I didn't like it at all. I saw the series and I didn't like it. However, I liked the second document. It is totally different from the original tales.

DID I LIKE IT ? -> I liked these two documents very much, because there is no longer this image of an innocent girl who is saved by a man.

Thanks to this sequence, we were able to start the translation work, which is far from easy. In addition, it reminded me of my childhood, especially with the painting Happily Ever after.

CONCLUSION

In addition, we learned a lot of vocabulary such as :

This sequence also made us work on sound and rhythm. Which is quite hard, especially in English. But, it is essential work, especially for a sequence on tales.

- the coat – he blurry background – the stark contrast – the axe – mischievous – knickers ...

We also learned the trial method, which is far from easy to apply and master.

We also talked about feminism with the character of Little Red Riding Hood, who is often portrayed as the naive and innocent girl who is saved by a man.

To conclude, this sequence allowed me to acquire new knowledge and skills.

3- MY DOCUMENTS

01

the three little pigs

JAMES ORCHARD HALLIWEL PHILLIPS , 1843

This version of the Three Little Pigs written by Eugene Trivizas is a very different version of the original tale. The roles are reversed, the pig is mean and the wolves are nice. In addition, there is a humoristic side because the pig ends up using great means to destroy houses, for example he uses dynamite. It is clearly a parody of the original tale. It can appear in our chapter because, it is also a revisiting of a tale, it is also a tale for children and the book teaches us to protect ourselves.

-> if someone with bad intentions really wants to harm us, there is nothing we can do to stop them.

02

the PINCESSE AND THE PEA

HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN , 1835

In the original version, the prince and the princess get married after the princess has passed the test. But in this version it is not. Indeed, we have a feminist vision of the princess who does not want to marry a man who treats her in this way. At the end of this revisit, she marries another man who treats her as he should. The graphics add a bit of realism and humor.

-> We finally have a realistic vision of a princess who does not marry the first comer and with a man who does not treat her properly.

4- The imporTance of being EARNEST

01

tiobe

OSCAR WILDE , 1895

The book is quite complex because Oscar Wilde uses several types of ironies that I have trouble spotting. Having really understood the book at the end, it's still a good book.

02

TIOBE - ACT 1

OSCAR WILDE , 1895

it is the first excerpt studied in class. I find it quite funny but a little disturbing because the language used is very different from today..

03

TIOBE - ACT 2

OSCAR WILDE , 1895

I find this excerpt rather frustrating, as Ernest does not respond to Lady Bracknell's highly inappropriate attacks. Their ways of thinking are different from those of today and it shows in this document.

04

TIOBE - ACT 3

OSCAR WILDE , 1895

This excerpt is the meeting between Cecily and Gwendolen. I really like this document because Oscar Wilde blatantly mocks the upper class.

05

tiobe - MOVIE ADAPTATION

OLIVIER PARKER , 2002

The adaptation of the book is very successful. I really enjoyed the film, the sets and the actors who fit the roles perfectly.

06

Script of the video with the puppets

GROUP WORK

we had to rewrite a scene from the book and script it. With my group, we chose sock puppets. It was really very funny to do and the rendering was as we wanted. We were quite original since the majority of the other groups took playmobiles

5- War will not tear us apart

01

EMMA - THE CALLING

GOARMY , 2021

This video is certainly focused on the commitment to the army and a bit focused on propaganda but I find it good . It has a cartoonish and childish side to her, Emma's story is touching all the more because it is real..

02

group work

FEAT TRISTAN AND ALEXANDRE

Our subject was the war in Iraq. It was very "rewarding", and even a little mentally hard since I tried to put myself in the place of all the living victims, I dare to imagine the traumatism that it was. On top of that, our chapter was consistent with current events.

6-HOW TO BE CLIMATE SMART ?

01

interstellar

This film was certainly long, but it was worth it. It is very interesting and captivating, we are directly immersed in the plot. And that's what it takes since you have to be attentive to fully understand the story.

02

GROUP WORK

invention of a book cover, the plot and an interview with the author

This activity was by far the best from my point of view, we were able to let our imagination take over and it was really fun and cool. In addition, the theme is very important and with my story I was able to learn more about natural disasters and their consequences on humanity. I also learned a lot of vocabulary thanks to this sequence on the climate, I really enriched and cultivated myself while having fun and working. I totally recommend this activity.

03

GROUP WORK - VIDEO

This video is our interview, it was very funny to film and to play since for that I had to take a "particular" accent and it was both funny and annoying. I retain only the positive of this sequence.

7-OF MICE AND MEN

01

OF MICE AND MEN - TRAILER

Before reading the film, we had to read the book so we weren't really surprised by the events, the film is good especially since it tackles a taboo subject for the time, that of mental illness. It's also about the Great Depression
